Jelly Roll is ready to expand his family.
The county singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, recently announced that he and wife Bunnie XO are trying for a baby and have started the IVF process.
"My wife and I are talking about having a baby," Jelly Roll, 39, shared on the June 4 episode of the Bussin' with the Boys podcast, "and it really made me realize at almost 40, I was like, that means I gotta live to at least 60. I gotta see this kid into college."
Bunnie (née Alisa DeFord) reposted the podcast clip to her Instagram and offered more insight into their process.
"We had planned on doing this privately," she captioned the video, "but decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we've always been so open. And w/all odds stacked against us, it's already been hard & we have only just begun."
Although Bunnie noted they are still exploring all of their options, they are hoping to have a baby by 2026.
This would mark the couple's first child together. Jelly Roll is already a dad to Bailee Ann, 16, with Felicia Beckwith, and Noah Buddy, 7, with Melisa Ann Cowell.
"J and I are SO excited & scared all at the same time," she admitted. "We genuinely never thought we'd want to add to our family but something changed this year. We both just want a piece of us together to add to our already perfect family w/Bailee and Noah."
Jelly, who married Bunnie in 2016, knows that his wife will be the best parent. In fact, he has continued to sing her praises as a stepmom to his kids.
"It takes a special kind of woman to raise a kid that isn't her child and still treat the child as if she was," he wrote on Mother's Day in 2020. "Bunnie is that special woman, outside of the social media, outside of the podcast, and all the business endeavors she does and helps me with, Bunnie is a beautiful soul."
The "Save Me" artist also pointed out Bunnie's special bond with his daughter.
"Over the years watching her relationship with Bailee blossom into this beautiful mother-daughter bond that it has become has been nothing short of magical," he gushed. "I have truly been blessed with the best partner I could've asked for in life."
He added, "You are the epitome of a good mom and deserve more credit than anyone because you didn't have to step up to the plate the way you did."
